TLDR:

– N-able, Inc., a MSP platform company, has launched N-able Managed Detection and Response (MDR) to bolster cybersecurity for small and mid-sized organizations.
– The MDR service combines a high-tech security operations platform with expert oversight, providing real-time visibility and collaboration for MSPs, client organizations, and security analysts.

N-able has expanded its security suite with the launch of N-able Managed Detection and Response (MDR), a new service designed to enhance cybersecurity for small and mid-sized organizations. The MDR service combines a high-tech security operations platform with expert oversight, allowing MSPs, client organizations, and security analysts to work together effectively. It offers real-time visibility and collaboration, integrating AI for advanced threat detection and response, as well as incorporating threat hunting, vulnerability management, darknet monitoring, and compliance support.

N-able is not the only MSP platform provider to offer MDR services to MSP partners. ConnectWise and Kaseya also have MDR service offerings, while Syncro considers cybersecurity to be a third pillar for MSPs alongside RMM and PSA.

The launch of N-able MDR comes at a time when the cybersecurity sector faces a significant skills gap and shortage of qualified professionals. As a result, services like N-able MDR are crucial in providing necessary cybersecurity capabilities, especially in sectors where access to expert personnel is limited. The market is shifting towards managed security and integration services, potentially outpacing the demand for cybersecurity technology itself.

Currently, N-able MDR is only available to partners in North America, but the company plans to extend the offering to EMEA partners in the first quarter of 2024, with other regions to follow. N-able CEO John Pugliuca emphasized the value of transparency and collaboration that N-able MDR brings to the relationship between MSPs and their clients. The increasing demand for cybersecurity expertise, driven by growing threats, regulations, and staffing challenges, underscores the need for comprehensive services like N-able MDR.
