  • NIST is offering funding through the RAMPS program to support cybersecurity education and workforce development.
  • Applicants must demonstrate partnerships with institutions of higher education, nonprofit organizations, and local employers.

NIST has announced a new Notice of Funding Opportunity (NOFO) to support Regional Alliances and Multistakeholder Partnerships to Stimulate (RAMPS) cybersecurity education and workforce development. The funding will award up to $200,000 through cooperative agreements to expand the existing RAMPS program. The program aligns with the Department of Commerce’s Principles for Highly Effective Workforce Investments and Good Jobs Principles, supporting the NIST-led NICE program to advance cybersecurity education and workforce.

Partnerships between employers and educators will focus on developing skilled workforce to meet industry needs within a local or regional economy. Applicants are required to demonstrate commitment from organizations such as institutions of higher education, nonprofit training organizations, and local employers or operators of critical infrastructure through letters of commitment. The deadline to apply is Friday, May 24, 2024, by 11:59 p.m. Eastern Time.

A webinar for interested applicants will be held on April 8, 2024, to provide information on the funding opportunity, guidance for preparing applications, and answer questions. This funding opportunity aims to support the development of a skilled cybersecurity workforce to address industry demands and promote economic growth.
