USF’s fresh think tank tackles tough cybersecurity hurdles

In February, the University of South Florida hosted a Cybersecurity Think Tank meeting with nearly 60 researchers from seven colleges. The meeting coincided with the public release of the 2024 Threat Assessment annual report from the Office of the Director of National Intelligence. The meeting aimed to enhance collaboration at USF, align with the university’s research focus on global and national security, and strengthen public-private partnerships.

The Cybersecurity Think Tank was organized by the USF Research Development Institute (RDI) and supported by Cyber Florida. Facilitated by Sriram Chellappan and Manish Agrawal, the meeting focused on discussions led by USF faculty members on cybersecurity themes related to privacy and security. The aim was to generate high-impact projects, raise visibility of USF strengths, and identify strategies for research and workforce development.
