The individual earned 391 bitcoins, equivalent to over $27 million, from these cyberattacks. Spanish police worked with the FBI to apprehend the suspect in Palma de Mallorca.

The cybercriminal used phishing campaigns to obtain access credentials, infiltrate corporate systems, exfiltrate sensitive data, and access victims’ cryptocurrency wallets to siphon funds. The stolen information was likely monetized and sold on dark web forums.
