Unifly and FAA partner up for groundbreaking UTM cybersecurity project!

Unifly, a group company of Terra Drone, has successfully completed a groundbreaking Unmanned Traffic Management (UTM) cybersecurity model project in partnership with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).

The project aimed to refine a UTM cybersecurity model, including the requirements and certification scheme, and validate the model in an operational environment. Unifly partnered with the Rhea Group and the NY UAS Test Site for the project.

During the project, interviews were conducted with stakeholders in the UTM ecosystem, including the FAA, NASA, and Nav Canada, to collect feedback and security requirements. The project team refined both the system requirements and the security controls for the updated prototype model, which was then demonstrated through actual flights at the NY Test site. The tests confirmed the need and efficacy of the implemented security controls.
