By the end of 2024, Azerbaijan plans to introduce a domestic cyber security product to its market. Shahmar Hajiyahyayev, the head of the Information Security Department at the Innovation and Digital Development Agency, shared this goal during a press conference highlighting the achievements of 2023 and outlining the targets for 2024.

According to Hajiyahyayev, the Azerbaijan Cyber Security Center aims to involve a total of 400 individuals in training programs by the end of 2024. The center has already graduated its first batch of 60 students, with 78% of them successfully employed. Two additional registration waves in May and October allowed 120 more individuals to join the training programs.

The initiative to develop a local cyber security product and the emphasis on training individuals in the field highlight Azerbaijan’s commitment to enhancing its cybersecurity infrastructure and capabilities. This move not only aims to strengthen the country’s defenses against cyber threats but also provides opportunities for individuals to build expertise in this crucial domain.
