Screenshots shared by an anonymous source at a cloud reseller show the initial email from CrowdStrike’s chief business officer, Daniel Bernard, expressing thanks and apologies for the inconvenience caused by the incident. The email included technical updates and a QR code for Uber Eats. Despite some initial issues with redemption, follow-up emails were sent to rectify the situation and provide working vouchers.

The IT outage caused disruptions worldwide, impacting various industries. CrowdStrike attributed the incident to a defect in a Windows update. While businesses affected by the outage are seeking to recover their losses, CrowdStrike is only required to refund subscription fees to customers under their terms and agreements.
