ITWeb’s Security Summit 2024 has confirmed that renowned cyber security researcher Professor Hoda Alkhzaimi will deliver a keynote address at the event, which will be held from 4 to 6 June in Johannesburg. Alkhzaimi, co-chair of the World Economic Forum’s Global Future Council on Cyber Security and director of the Center for Cyber Security at New York University Abu Dhabi, will discuss the impact of emerging tech sovereignty on the future of the cyber security landscape.
The address will explore how increasing investments in cutting-edge technologies—like artificial intelligence, deep tech, 3D manufacturing, and quantum computing—can enable new forms of attacks and pose new opportunities and challenges for security and resilience. Alkhzaimi’s expertise extends to cryptology, cryptanalysis, security hardware and software validation, and the construction of trusted security architectures across various industries.
As the founder and director of the Emerging Advanced Research Acceleration for Technologies, Security, and Cryptology research lab (EMARATSEC), her research is currently focused on cryptographic primitives, cyber security architectures like IoT, big data, and how AI and machine learning techniques can be leveraged to improve security analytics.
The Security Summit 2024, which features over 60 local and international cyber security experts, provides the attendees with latest knowledge and insights, exploring strategies and solutions to tackle escalating security challenges during the two-day conference and a day of workshops.
