Infinidat Launches New AMD-Based G4 Storage And Adds New Security, Consumption Model

TLDR:

  • Infinidat launches new InfiniBox G4 storage arrays with AMD processors for increased performance and reduced power consumption.
  • New security features, consumption-based pricing model, and integration with third-party cybersecurity software have been added.

Infinidat has introduced the InfiniBox G4 storage arrays powered by AMD processors, offering double the performance of previous models. The new arrays also come with a controller upgrade program, a consumption-based pricing model, and enhanced data protection capabilities integrated with third-party cybersecurity software. This advancement aims to cater to a wider market and provide customers with improved performance and efficiency.

The shift to AMD processors in the InfiniBox G4 has resulted in a significant performance boost and power efficiency due to more cores in a single chip. Additionally, the company has launched the InfiniBox SSA G4 F1400T model, which is a high-end array offering 155 TBs of all-flash storage in a smaller footprint suitable for small data centers and edge locations.

Infinidat has also introduced a controller upgrade program, InfiniVerse Mobius, to allow seamless upgrades for SSA arrays without replacing the storage. The company has expanded its InfiniVerse Platform, featuring AI-based analytics and a consumption-based pricing model to simplify data management and monitoring.

Furthermore, Infinidat is extending its technology to the hybrid cloud with the introduction of InfuzeOS Cloud Edition for Azure, while also focusing on automated cyber protection by integrating with leading cybersecurity software like Splunk and Microsoft Sentinel. These enhancements aim to provide customers with a comprehensive storage solution that includes cybersecurity measures.

The new Infinidat G4 offerings are expected to reach customers who previously could not leverage the technology due to footprint limitations. Partners have praised the company for listening to customer needs and continuously improving its offerings to make storage management easier and more accessible across different environments.
