The recent cyberattack that targeted London hospitals has brought attention to the importance of strong cybersecurity measures. Acacium Group’s director of information security services, Andrew Cooke, emphasized the significance of proactive measures such as communication, threat hunting, and continuous training to mitigate big risks.

Acacium, a prominent healthcare delivery partner, has increased its threat-hunting activities and communication efforts to protect against potential compromises. Cooke stressed the need for a proactive approach to defend systems connected to the NHS and other critical infrastructures. By bolstering surveillance through the security operations center, Acacium is actively looking for indicators of compromise and identifying attacker groups to implement relevant defenses.

In a video interview with Information Security Media Group at Infosecurity Europe 2024, Cooke highlighted the importance of regular cybersecurity training, certification compliance, and managing and demonstrating supply chain compliance for third-party suppliers. Effective communication was also underscored as a key strategy to raise awareness and enhance response strategies in the face of cyber threats.

Cooke, with over 30 years of experience in information security and various certifications, leads a program of security enhancements at Acacium Group. His focus is on driving security improvements across the business and extending those improvements to future acquisitions.
