The company disclosed that it was experiencing connectivity issues that were later revealed to be “enterprise-wide,” and further confirmed that the issues were due to a cybersecurity concern. Change Healthcare provides technology for revenue cycle and payment management in the healthcare industry, processing 15 billion transactions annually and reaching a third of U.S. patients. Optum has stated that the incident seems to be contained within Change Healthcare’s platforms and has not affected other segments of UnitedHealth Group.
