The project, led by UConn’s Eversource Energy Center, will receive $2.5 million in federal funding over the next two years, along with $1.1 million from industry stakeholders. This initiative aims to unite experts from various universities in the Northeast to enhance education on cybersecurity for energy systems, create a testbed for simulating cyber attacks, and provide certification courses for skills development. UConn is partnering with industry stakeholders like Eversource to involve energy security experts in the program and plans to launch the initiative in early May.
