Argus Cyber Security has announced the launch of its aftermarket product, Argus vDome, which aims to prevent cyber-vehicle theft. The product is designed to protect vehicles from CAN injection attacks, a method used by hackers to gain access to vehicles in order to steal them. CAN injection attacks involve exploiting vulnerabilities in a vehicle’s CAN bus, which allows the thief to disable the immobilizer, unlock the doors, start the engine, and drive away with the vehicle. Argus vDome is an AI-powered device that is able to detect and block these types of attacks in real time. The device creates a unique electric signature for each car’s electronic control unit (ECU) signal, which cannot be faked. If a hacker tries to send a command to the CAN bus, the vDome device will instantly identify the rogue signal and prevent the theft. The device can be integrated into new vehicles at the factory or installed as an aftermarket product.
