HCM City authorities organized a four-day cyber security drill in order to enhance the city’s readiness in the face of cyber attacks. The drill, called HCM City Network Security Drill 2023, will be conducted both in-person and online and will involve various government agencies, state-owned enterprises, and major corporations in the city. The objective of the drill is to simulate and test the city’s response capabilities in the event of a cyber security incident, such as data breaches, malware attacks, and cyber espionage. The exercise also aims to identify weaknesses in the city’s cyber security infrastructure and develop strategies to address them. Vietnam has seen an increase in cyber security threats in recent years, prompting the government to prioritize cyber security as a national security issue and invest in strengthening the country’s cyber defense capabilities. According to global security firm Kaspersky, Vietnam faced the third-highest number of cyber attacks in Southeast Asia last year.
