  • Formal Incident Response Plans were only in place by 21% of businesses and 16% of charities
  • Experience of Cyber Crime was reported by 11% of businesses and 8% of charities in the last year, with an average annual cost of £15,300 per victim
  • The annual revenue of the Cybersecurity Industry was £10.5 billion, up 3% from the previous year
  • Cyber security sector employed 58,005 people, a 10% increase from the previous year
  • 59% of UK organizations expected increased cybersecurity budgets in 2023.
  • 77% of UK organizations had cyber insurance.

The trends showed that cybersecurity awareness and implementation was still low in many businesses and charities, leaving them vulnerable to cyber crimes. There was a particular concern over cloud-related threats, business email compromise, and ransomware attacks.
